My Yoga Adventure

Looking back, I never imagined that yoga would become an essential piece of my life. I actually disliked yoga. It wasn’t for me at that time. My best friend wanted to be a yoga practitioner and I wasn’t so sure about that, but was open to possibilities and new adventures. I was a Pilates fan; it gave me back my health and strength, which was most needed for me at that time.
We were slowly routing ourselves to change our future and wanted to become some kind of healthy nut instructors. It’s funny; I had so many great adventures with my best friend and so many bumps on my path with her as well. We both shared a union, which at that time didn’t know that our paths would go towards holistic and well-being practitioners.
One thing that I did not realize was that there are so many different styles of yoga. Hoping we were doing something good here, we both enrolled in this yoga teacher training, very optimist and convincing ourselves this style of yoga was good for us. After a few weeks of traveling an hour and half and trying to convince ourselves this was the right thing to do; we were very stubborn and didn’t want to admit that we were so bored and didn’t like this training. Way to slow for us! It was maybe the wrong teaching at that time. We just decided to quit and for sure, realized that we needed to find what was good for us.
We continued exploring classes and trainings of all kinds. I knew I wanted to become an instructor and practice more and more a healthy life style. I started out with instructing a group fitness class and Pilates and continued taking a variety of yoga classes once in a while. Now here I am, continuing my adventure as a Yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Body therapist!
So why do I practice yoga?
I found that yoga helps me focus and relieves so much stress that I hold. It actually brings me happiness within a healthy conscious. I find myself more connected to my true self. In addition, it brings positive thinking and more meditation to my days. It is an outstanding workout as well!
I realized that we have to practice every day and it’s a continuous journey. The more you practice, the more you want to, it’s a rush of adrenaline that goes through you and stays within you. You realize your own enlightenment with patience and eventually it will appear when the time is right for you!
Shanti and Be Well!
